Clean Up Beldon Day is almost here again! This year, we will be holding it on Tuesday, 27 March at 1pm.
In 1989 an 'average Australian bloke' had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard - Sydney Harbour. This simple idea has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event, Clean Up Australia Day.
In the past 27 years, Australians have devoted more than 32 million hours towards the environment through Clean Up Australia Day and collected over 344 thousand tonnes of rubbish. More information can be found here.
As a staff, we see a great number of benefits in joining in a community event such as this. For this reason, we not only participate on the day, but lessons are created to further study recycling and sustainability based on the outcomes of the day. The children love making a difference in not only a community, but also a global sense, and a lot of fun is had by all.
If you able to send some tongs or gloves along for the day, that would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to another successful Clean Up Beldon Day together.
